CRAWFORDSVILLE — Mrs. Nancy Jane (Walker) Swidan, 77, formerly of the New Richmond and Darlington communities, died in Culver Hospital at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Widow of a businessman, Charles S. Swidan, she entered the hospital June 23. Born near New Richmond, she was married in Toledo in 1923. Her husband died in 1958. The couple went to housekeeping in Detroit, then farmed in the Darlington and New Richmond communities before moving to Crawfordsville and establishing a grocery business in 1937. They operated the business until his death. Mrs. Swidan was a member of Liberty Chapel Church. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. George N. Parker of Ladoga.
